If there was ever a doubt in anyone's mind about the ability of Supreme Championship Wrestling to completely throw everyone a curveball, the previous edition of Supreme Saturday showed that doubt was unfounded. The world watched as Jake Starr was able to finally take down Gable Winchester, after many thought he ducked him at Under Attack. After the match was over, the fireworks truly began as Jake Starr and James Evans, once again, ended up fighting on what looked to be the same side of the equation. Aside from the two fighting side by side again, the ultimate shock was when the world saw the two enemies apparently form a bond, when they shook hands after fighting their adversaries.

This was something some suspected, but still never expected to see. Jake Starr and James Evans have not been on the same page since prior to Rise to Greatness. The two have made it abundantly clear, over time, that they do not have positive feelings about one another, and yet they now stand shoulder to shoulder against three of the most talented tag teams in SCW history, going into Final Level. It's a pairing that could conceivably turn into a ticking time bomb, with the combined personalities and egos trying to coexist on a platform that could push them both to another level in SCW.

Unfortunately for Jake, though, this newly found ally in James Evans has not gone over well with his inner circle of friends. As Brandon Evans watches on, he feels a sense of deja vu, as at the Breakdown prior to Supreme Saturday, the two had seemingly shown signs of orchestrating a relatively coordinated attack and defense combination. Brandon felt that Jake was beginning to keep him out of the loop, and ultimately try his hand at "going rogue" again. Seeing the two shaking hands has pushed Brandon to the point of feeling that everything he felt in his gut was accurate, and he is the one being made to feel foolish.

The anger of being made to feel this way has Brandon seething in the locker room. He is pacing back and forth, waiting for someone to show up and give him the answers he feels he is owed. After several minutes, and seeing the segment of Supreme Saturday continue on past Jake and James, Brandon hears the doorknob being turned, and he spins to see Thoren walk in. Brandon wastes no time getting up in Thoren's face, and beginning to scold and lash out toward Jake's nephew.

Brandon Evans: WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ABOUT?!

Thoren is slowly beginning to feel Jake's influence and ability to throw sarcasm out without hesitation.

Thoren Holt: I already feel like we have had this conversation before.

Brandon isn't amused.

Brandon Evans: Shut the fuck up! What was that about? Now Jake and James are shaking hands?! He said NOBODY was in cahoots with NOBODY, and then they FUCKING SHAKE HANDS?! I don't know about you, but that fucking tells me SOMEONE is in cahoots with SOMEONE! So tell me! Tell me what you know!

Thoren looks directly into Brandon's eyes.

Thoren Holt: Jesus Christ, man... I don't know SHIT! I was minding my fucking business, on my way to the back, when I looked back and saw the same thing you did. Don't be stunned here, it shocked me too! I started to think that something felt off, but I figured you knew something about it!

Brandon continues to yell.

Brandon Evans: WHY THE FUCK WOULD I KNOW?!

Thoren's volume begins to increase as well, and he snaps back.

Thoren Holt: BECAUSE I'M STILL A REDHEADED FUCKING STEP CHILD TO EVERYONE! I know NOBODY gives me a Goddamn OUNCE of credibility about anything, and I'm the FIRST person anyone questions when something off happens. Since this isn't something "small," do you REALLY believe Jake is going to trust me, and allow me to be "in the loop?" I'm still just a fucking extra body around here, anyway. This isn't something minor, Brandon, so why should I know? You should know. You're the "conscience," remember?

Brandon growls, and lowers his volume.

Brandon Evans: I am beginning to question how true that is right about now... He's starting to do some things that make me worry that we're heading down the "Jake the Rebel" bullshit path all over again.

Brandon backs up from Thoren's face, as Thoren replies, thinking out loud.

Thoren Holt: Well maybe there's some rational explanation here?

This sends Brandon back to yelling.

Brandon Evans: HOW?! HOW CAN THERE BE A RATIONAL EXPLANATION, THOREN?! Jake BOLD FACE FUCKING LIED to us. He and Evans had been conspiring to do SOMETHING all along, and we were BOTH kept in the fucking dark. How can we trust Jake, when he pulls shit like this, huh?

Thoren Holt: Dude... Calm down...

Brandon Evans: WHY SHOULD I?

Thoren decides to, in a slightly sarcastic manner, yell back.

Thoren Holt: BECAUSE YELLING AT ME WHEN YOU'RE MAD AT JAKE DOES YOU NO FUCKING GOOD WHATSOEVER!

Thoren then lowers his voice back to a normal level.

Thoren Holt: ... Face it, it's well known you're pissed. I get it, I really do. There is no doubt in my mind, or probably anyone else within earshot for that matter, that you want answers, but yelling at me isn't going to make them magically appear out of thin air. Besides, we both know Jake will be coming in here to get his stuff and get changed anyway, so MAYBE that might be the more rational idea, rather than yelling at me like the fucking scapegoat.

Brandon looks down at the ground, and sighs. He realizes that with as adamant and poignant as Thoren is, he is most likely telling the truth, and is as out of the loop as he is suggesting. He goes to begin to apologize to Thoren for his outbursts as the door slowly begins to crack open. Brandon's attention immediately shifts to watching Jake walk into the dressing room. Jake is completely oblivious to the outbursts that were happening prior to his arrival and he simply says hi, walks over to his locker, and begins to unwind from being out in front of the crowd.

Brandon and Thoren stand in silence, as Jake simply goes about his business like normal. In Jake's mind, he figures the two are getting ready to pack up as well, and as he begins to untape himself and remove his knee brace, Brandon's ability to hold back ends, and he breaks the silence in a very sarcastic tone.

Brandon Evans: So... Jake... Are you planning on enlightening us as to what in the HELL all of THAT was about?

Jake is a bit confused.

Jake Starr: What do you mean?

Brandon Evans: Don't fucking play dumb, Jake. This is the SAME THING you said on Saturday. You were adamant that you and Evans didn't have anything going on, and next thing Thoren and I see is you two out there shaking hands, and telling a COMPLETELY different tale.

Jake droops his head down, not being able to believe what is happening all over again.

Jake Starr: Dude... Why are you so fucking paranoid, man?

Brandon begins to heat up.

Brandon Evans: You fucking flat our LIED to us, Jake...

One way to get under Jake's skin really quickly, is to call him a liar. Jake, in turn, slowly turns his head, looking back over his shoulder, glaring directly at Brandon.

Jake Starr: Pardon me?

Brandon Evans: I didn't fucking stutter, Jake. For once, you have me so fucking livid I can't see straight! For the longest time, I've sat back and been your personal patsy and "yes man," but to be flat out LIED to about all of this is fucking bullshit. I'm fucking furious, dude!

Jake jumps up and throws the chair he was sitting in into another locker. He walks up and gets very much in Brandon's face.

Jake Starr: You better think LONG and HARD before you start flapping those gums again...

Brandon Evans: Why?! For years I trusted you, Jake! And how did you repay me for that trust, huh? You lied to me... You lied to US! We were all supposed to be on the same page. We were all supposed to be in the loop. But instead, you lie to our face, and do JUST what you did before. This is what made everyone in our crew lose faith in your decisions. You were dishonest. You...

Jake cuts him off before he can continue.

Jake Starr: Shut up... Just shut the fuck up... You know absolutely nothing! What happened out there, what has your little asshole all fucking puckered like a 6 year old trying to kiss, isn't the product of some extravagant plan.

Brandon Evans: Well that sure as shit isn't what it looked like!

Jake Starr: And I could give a SHIT how it looked to you or anyone else. The truth is the truth. James and I decided to alter our perspective tactics right before we shook hands. I mean, yeah, I may be an asshole and a self-centered fuck, but I'm no liar, and that's a fucking fact!

Brandon isn't convinced.

Jake Starr: ... Fine! You want details? When I said nothing was going on, nothing was. Out there, both James' and my game plans changed...

Brandon rolls his eyes.

Brandon Evans: Whatever Jake... That's not how you operate, and we ALL know that. You're calculated. You're methodical...

Jake Starr: Exactly! I have been watching Evans like a fucking HAWK, man. He hasn't approached me, tried to befriend me, or anything. He's simply going out there, and executing his own personal agenda. He's also doing it without getting in my way. The fact is, James has his business, and I had mine, and we began to see that those businesses were running in a mighty parallel line to one another. When we were out there, too, we came to a very distinct understanding. He won't step on my toes, and I won't step on his. In exchange for that "truce," we can both begin to take care of what we see as important. I mean, fuck, I'm not out there inviting the guy to Thanksgiving dinner. Instead, I'm simply saying sometimes it takes someone you can't trust AT ALL to help you keep pushing forward.

Thoren Holt: ... So how CAN you trust him, when you're admitting you can't?

Brandon Evans: Thoren has a point... It doesn't make much sense...

Jake smirks.

Jake Starr: It's easy. See James knows he could EASILY be on borrowed time with me, He realizes I can take his head off at any point in time. In return, I know his half-retarded group of fucks are standing at the ready to jump me, too. We both realize that we both have an arsenal at our disposal, aimed at our enemies, but at the same time we still have a missile or two pointed in each other's direction. Like I said... This isn't some befriending moment between Jake and James, like it was for me and Fatso. Deep down, I still want Evans to understand how pissed off he made me with his pre-Rise to Greatness attacks on all of us.

But right now, we have bigger fish to fry out there.

Ultimately, James Evans could be one of those cogs in the wheel that help me rise to the top. In the past, everyone has used me to get ahead, and so I figure why not try to do the same thing. If we each can simply deal with our respective businesses, then part ways without murdering one another, then I would say we created a successful passage in history of two foes seeing eye to eye for a bit of time. If we end up killing one another, then nobody is surprised, and the whole "volatile situation" idea comes to fruition.

This is just something that happened because it made sense!

The whole idea that this was some grand scheme that I kept people in the dark on is garbage. This was a spur of the moment type of thing. If you can't trust me when I say that, then you both can fuck off. You two will ALWAYS be more in the loop than he ever will. This is strictly business. I mean for fuck's sake, even the Hatfield's and McCoy's had members of their groups help one another every now and then...

Brandon sighs again.

Brandon Evans: Ok... It just seemed...

Jake cuts him off but responds in a much calmer tone.

Jake Starr: I know what it looked like. I know it irks you. But remember I knew it was OK to actually trust Greg once in my life. I have a feeling James' desire to get to the top makes him REALLY want to utilize me, just like I want to utilize him. The plan hasn't changed. My goals are still the same. James Evans will NOT stop me from finishing this mission...

Brandon Evans: Yeah? I hope so...

Jake Starr: You have to trust me on this...

Brandon Evans: Fine... This is just kind of hard to swallow...

Jake Starr: I get it... In the end, we will remain on top. Whether he's standing there remains to be seen. Shit... Whether he's standing PERIOD remains to be seen... It all depends on if he minds his P's and Q's...

With those words, Jake looks both men in the eye, and begins to see a bit more understanding in their stares. Brandon and Thoren still have many reservations as to this whole process, but seem to believe Jake when he says this wasn't some elaborate plan he kept them out of. Even with that belief, they hope his gut feeling is right, and this turns out to be a positive for them. They have been gaining more and more momentum as the weeks have progressed, and don't want to have it derailed by someone who dupes them. Now the question becomes, can the two truly coexist? Can they put their differences aside long enough to accomplish whatever missions they have in store? Will they truly not allow their egos to cause them to turn on one another? This pairing could become one of the most volatile and dangerous tandems in SCW, all depending on how things shape up going forward.

Jake Starr: Ladies and gentlemen, I stand here today knowing that everything I say may sound eerily familiar. I know you all will wonder if your TiVo or DVR has accidentally replayed my comments from my last little shoot, but I assure you, that is not the case. I assure you I worked long and hard on these comments. I have not wasted my time rehashing any that didn't need to be. They were vetted by higher authorities, meaning me, myself, and I, and therefore make them some of the most truthful and non-rehashed comments I have ever made.

So with that being said... Let's begin!

Jake clears his throat, and continues.

Now I stand here knowing what you're all thinking. Especially with what I said and how I was perceived last time I was out here, I know everyone has a lot of questions and curiosities, and I am here to end the questions, and make it VEHEMENTLY clear as to what changed. So... With that being said, let me answer the question on everyone's mind...

YES! I did get a haircut!

Brandon, who is standing behind Jake along with Thoren, cocks an eyebrow in confusion as to Jake's comment.

... I appreciate you all asking, tweeting, and voicing your curiosities. The girls at Sport Clips do an amazing job at making my coif look this good, and for fuck's sake, I get a hot towel and back massage! All for the low low price of $22. It's a deal! Fuck man, it's a STEAL at that price. And if you go here in Des Moines, be sure to ask for Katy. She is the best. Avoid Meredith at all costs, she'll butcher your hair. Like, seriously, she took almost a whole inch off. How DARE her?! Doesn't she know who the FUCK I am?!

Thoren begins to fight the laughter, and Jake hears him snicker. It actually brings a grin to his face, knowing he's basically being a complete ass to the listeners.

The truth is, I'm not fucking stupid here. I know everyone wants answers, and that includes the two standing behind me. For the better part of 2015 I have looked at James Evans as a complete twat who is simply so self-centered he doesn't realize how NOT to be dumb. Case in point, he attacked me and my friends. It is not something I would classify as one of his brighter moments, but if anyone wasn't living under a rock, they saw the two of us shake hands at Breakdown, and now be put into a position to claim the World Tag Team Championships... But more on the latter a little later...

Everyone has been buzzing about why we shook hands. People have theories. People think we have been in communications and plotting this, similarly to how Xander and I had initially plotted our takeover of SCW. People assume that our teaming together was the worst kept secret in professional wrestling. They also assume that we are now friends.

No...

No...

And no!

The fact is simple. James and I don't like one another. I personally don't see him as a friend or anyone I trust in this world. But much like Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama, sometimes two people with obvious disdain for one another are forced to set it all aside. Well... Most of it. Let's be real, while Russia and the United States may finally be coming together over this whole ISIS situation, they still have one eye FIRMLY supplanted on one another. There isn't trust there. There isn't a newly rekindled alliance. It's simply realizing that both have figured out that their agendas are inevitably going to cross, and rather than running into the possibility that they screw one another over, come to an understanding that it is time to handle their business in parallel to one another. And I would like to believe that I am Obama, and he is Putin. Why? Because I'm cool, and he probably would love to have pictures taken of him on a horse with no shirt on, HOPING it would catch someone's eye... I'm just saying...

But... That mentality of Putin and Obama is what I ultimately saw from Evans.

I didn't see him running out there to help me. He didn't come out there to hinder me. He was focused on his business, and I was on mine. Never once did he impact me negatively, and I ensured I did the same in return. I handled my business, and didn't step on his toes. On Breakdown last week, we both realized something. We realized that this whole idea of one of us magically appearing was probably going to continue, and we needed to address it between the two of us. We stood in that aisle, and he looked me in the eye and uttered a simple phrase, "I'll handle my business." I looked back at him and responded accordingly, "And I'll handle mine." With that, we had an understanding. We didn't patch things up. He's not getting a Christmas card of me and my family, no, he is simply turning into an unlikely ally in a set of battles that could span a decent amount of time. It's like the USSR and United States in World War II. Did they really ACTUALLY care for one another? No! They handled business during the war, and once everything was done, they began shitting on one another again. Evans and I haven't stopped harboring resentment for one another. He doesn't like me. He knows I could ultimately turn on him in an instant. But it goes both ways... Deep down I know I can't trust him either. I know he has the capability to turn on me as well. That, however, doesn't deter either of us because we realize what the bigger picture is here.

The fact of the matter is, James and I have our own agendas. Both of us want to be the top dog in SCW. We both want that World Title belt. We also realize that if we are constantly at one another's throat, however, that it would ultimately hold us back. We realize that if we're going to shrug off these wannabes, we have to make sure one of us takes aim at some, and the other at others. The more asshats we can eliminate, then when all is said and done he and I can go in against one another with a kill or be killed mentality to see who really reigns supreme. In a sense, he is my insurance policy, and I'm his. He and I understand that nobody pays attention to either of us enough, and to force it on others, it is simply time to bitch-slap everyone in the teeth.

Which brings us all to Final Level!

When this match was announced, I was a bit shocked, to be honest. I wasn't truly anticipating that SCW would have the gonads to let James and I actually go in there and take their prestigious Tag Team Championships...

Jake pauses as if he just heard something from behind the camera.

Oh? What was that? You guys didn't realize that we're coming to fart on your rainbow? Well it's plain and simple... Yes we are! See, James and I aren't a conventional tag team. We didn't come together because one of us was desperate for a title shot. We didn't pal up to try and help one another. We came together because it just seemed right for the time. We realize that it actually serves both of us quite nicely if we can begin to trash everyone in tandem. It was simply a MATTER OF CONVENIENCE...

Jake pauses again. An idea just popped into his head.

... Matter of Convenience... I like the sound of that... It's what it is... So since everyone has fancy names, like The Sisterhood, Standing Room Only, and "Now We're the Two Fucking Backstage," I am making the executive decision that James and I can conveniently be known as "The Matter of Convenience." I think it's creative. I don't know what Evans thinks, and I don't really care. I didn't get much say in The Brotherhood name, so I figure I'm allowed to have a say this time. Granted I did get to tell Greg Cherry we would NOT be labeled the "Buffet Brigade," so I guess that is having a say.

Anyway, going back to the match, James and I have a chance to go out there and force our way into the hearts and minds of every fan out there, and crush their hopes and dreams that THIS WILL BE THE MOMENT where Jake and James get offed by the unruly mob that has TRIED to oppose them. But think about what has happened in recent history. Think about who has actually succeeded against James and I. NOBODY has had success. Kayl, Lyman, Winchester, Angelica Jones, oh and did I mention David Helms? All of these people represented the "saving grace" against us, and one by one they have been relegated to being piles of mush. We have taken them each out of their element, and if they think that just because they're all in one match, that they can take us out, then fight one another, think again!

This is the type of scenario that actually benefits James and I. See, they will all focus on us. They want to hurt us. But then the reality will set in. It's a reality they may CLAIM they understand, but when they focus on us, and THINK we're eliminated, they'll realize they have to fight one another. That's when it'll become a free-for-all. That is when they will all just wail on one another, HOPING to take the rest out. They'll forget we exist, and we will simply begin biding our time and recovering. If they don't go that route, one will try to try and get the quick win, forcing everyone else to realize nobody is truly out to "take us out," but simply to be greedy and win.

Trust me when I say, title matches bring out the worst in people!

This group palled around long enough to attack me like a pack of wolves, but this time, they won't have that loyalty or "fight as one" mentality once you get into the meat of the match. They will see that they are all just as greedy as we are. That's when James and I have a distinct advantage. We can easily watch you all kill one another, and allow us to swoop in and pick up the scraps. We can EASILY pick people off one by one, as their guard shifts away from us. We are ruthless. We are merciless in this regard. We see this as a PRIME opportunity for us to walk out there and put our names on EVERYONE's radar. Yeah, we killed ANY momentum the "David Helms Farewell Tour" had left in its sails, but people still considered us a fluke. Nobody truly believes we deserved those wins, and NOW it's time for us to make a bigger move. While we may want that World Title, this will be a moment people cannot deny us from.

Jake's intensity begins to heat up.

See, everyone forgets about guys like James and I. People assume we're just the run of the mill, same old same old, type of wrestler. They think we were hot once, fell from grace, and are just desperately trying to find traction. When we do, they push us aside saying it was a fluke or luck. Nobody gives us credit. Everyone just forgets we exist, and NOW is a chance for us to both show the world we are STILL right here in front of them. They have these new found flavors of the month, and don't realize that, in the end, they won't be as lasting as someone like me, or I suppose James. We are FAR more focused on the big picture here. We see what this match represents for both of us. This is our chance, and nobody is even thinking about the what ifs, if we do win. People just assume we can't coexist.

The fact of the matter is, it's easy for everyone to discredit us. It's easy for everyone to push us aside as shells of our former selves, but the fact is, that is their HOPE talking. They don't want to wake up from their dreamworld and see the likes of Jake Starr and James Evans running rampant again. They want their safe and kid-friendly Supermen there instead. It's just too bad that reality is more of a fantasy than the idea of Paris Hilton ever being accepted as a talented musical artist. See, win or lose, I will make sure EVERYONE's life remains a living hell. I will CONTINUE to climb my way back to the top. Whether it's with a Tag Team Title over my shoulder or not, each man and shemale in this match will realize how REAL a Jake Starr resurgence is.

James Evans and Jake Starr... World Tag Team Champions... That's something I thought I would never hear. But soon it'll echo through the halls of SCW, and everyone will be confused. They'll find reasons to say it happened. You'll hear excuse after excuse. In the end, however, it'll be because two guys realized how CONVENIENT it would be to take everyone out, then worry about one another, and happened to become champions in the process.

Fuck doing anything the hard way... As long as it's easier on me, that's what matters... And this, yes, is simply a MATTER OF CONVENIENCE at its finest!

Enjoy these final few days, knuckle-draggers... Jake Starr will soon be Tag Champ once again!
